Week of Dec. 14th - Dec. 18th

Well we are one week away from break! I am so sorry last week's posting was not available, I had some problems with the blog uploading. I apologize for any inconvenience.

This week will be a busy one, but should be fun!

Thank you first of all for all who attended the American Revolution Walk Through. We are in the process of putting together a DVD with your childrens' participation in the Walk Through. You will be able to buy a copy if you wish. More information on this soon.

Also thank you for all that are interested in attending the Atwater Space Challenger Field trip. It looks like it will be a go and have about 2/3 of the class interested! More on this when we return.

** Keep the recycling coming. We have about $70 so far and the students wanted to reach $100 before Christmas. We still have a week.

ASSIGNMENTS for the Week:

* I will not be assigning any homework for the students; unless they do not finish up classwork then they will need to finish it at home.

* I will also not have spelling words this week.

We will however have the Math summative test (the lessons from the previous month and a half. If you would like to go to the adopted Math site it is linked to this blog. It will be chapters 4 through 6. This test will be on Tuesday. We have been studying for it and they will be able to use their notes. I will send home a study guide on Monday night.

The final project for the Fighting Ground is due on Thursday. The students will be presenting their posters and 2-3 minute commercial on Friday. The rubric is posted here on the blog.

We are also finishing up in class, The Nutcracker. They will be responsible for some assignments in class. If they do not finish they will need to take them home.

On Friday we will have a small (Christmas/Pajama)party. We will be ordering pizza, thank you for those of you who have sent the $2. If you have not done so yet it would be appreciated if you could send it in by Wednesday. Children will need to bring their own drinks.

**Snacks if you would like to help out on Friday I did split up the snack list between the students so that I do not have 30 dz. cookies. Talk to your child/or email me if you have a question on what to send or bring if you are joining us.

We will be watching the Polar Express on Friday morning around 10:30 or so. We will be having hot chocolate too!(Yum)

Thank you for all that you do as a family and for helping me help your child succeed! I wish all of you the best holiday season and see you all next year, 2010!
